What is a Postpartum Doula?

A postpartum doula is a trained professional who provides emotional, physical, and practical support after the birth of a baby. helping with recovery, newborn care, and the transition into parenthood. A postpartum doula can wash bottles, assist with lactation, feed baby, assist with sleep , run errands, do baby laundry , watch baby while mom showers, , meal prep and more. We help provide resources for anything outside of our scope of practice including , pelvic floor therapy, lactation support,and mental health providers etc.

What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda is translated to mean “ the science of life”. It is a 5,000 year old holistic practice that honors mind body and spirit. It is used as a preventive and balancing practice- It combines the use of diet, herbs & mindfulness techniques to bring balance and serve the needs and health of an individual person.

How does Ayurveda relate to postpartum?

By viewing postpartum within the Ayurvedic lens we are able to serve the mother on a deeper level than just practical care. By cultivating the use of self care practices like mediation , belly wrapping, self abyhanga massage, the use of herbs and nourishment we establish balance and wellbeing within the mother and baby.

Do I need a consultation before I schedule your services.

Yes, a consultation is needed before scheduling . Since Doulas work inside your home and very closely with the family it is important to make sure we are compatable so that my services can benefit you most.

How do I prepare for my postpartum doula visits?

You don’t need to do a thing! It may be helpful to think about where you are needing support the most that day but we will discuss all of that together when I arrive.

Do you offer overnight support?

At this this time overnight support is only available in packages.

When should I book a postpartum doula?

Many families book during pregnancy. If you’ve already given birth, it’s not too late—reach out and I’ll do my best to accommodate you.

How long does postpartum support last?

Every family’s needs are different. Some need just a few visits, others want support for several weeks or the full fourth trimester. we work together to find what will work best for you and your unique needs.

Do you work with LGBTQ families, adoptive families, or single parents?

Yes, I believe every postpartum parent deserves support.

What areas do you serve?

I support the Greenville county area & some areas of spartanburg county.

Do you support families with multiples?

Absolutely. Families with twins or more often benefit greatly from extra hands and emotional support and as a twin mom myself I love to support these families

yes , as a previous nicu mom myself , I understand the unique needs and support Nicu families need.
